Completely renovated at the beginning of 2017, the Audi A5 Cabriolet is a “discovery” of generous size and remarkable elegance, with a classic electric cloth hood. It opens in just 15 seconds and closes in 18, even when the car it is in motion (up to 50 km/h), and when it is lowered it “steals” only 60 liters in the luggage compartment, where 320 dm3 of space remain to stow the luggage.
The Audi A5 Cabrio weighs over 200 kg more than the coupe from which it derives (due to the reinforcements necessary to compensate for the less rigidity of the body due to the absence of the roof), but retains considerable driveability and performance of all respect, able to satisfy more of a sporting ambition already with the less powerful engine, a 2.0 four-cylinder diesel engine with 190 hp and 400 Nm of maximum torque, capable (according to the house) to make them reach 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds starting from stationary.
Thanks to the excellent aerodynamics, already with the 2.0 TDI engine are declared over 230 km/h top speed, while with the 3.0 TDI six-cylinder 218 hp you exceed the 240. The Audi A5 Cabriolet also offers a choice between two turbo petrol engines, both combined with the “quattro” four-wheel drive: 2.0 TFSI with 252 hp and 370 Nm of maximum torque, and 3.0 TFSI with 354 hp (500 Nm of torque). The latter is the six-cylinder mounted on the sporty S5, which according to the manufacturer can stop the chronometer on the 5.1 seconds in the shot from 0 to 100 km/h.
