Halfway between an SUV and a coupe, compared to the sister Cayenne the Porsche Macan has more “human” dimensions (it is built on the platform of the Audi Q5) and an even sportier line. An aspect that is found in the driving position: despite the raised bodywork, you are sitting rather low. Effectively the steering wheel inspired by that of the 918 Spyder and the dashboard with three elements that incorporates (as indeed the console) the typical style of the other Porsche.
The available space in Porsche Macan is a lot, at least in front, while the sofa is sufficiently comfortable for two adults (but much less for three); at the price of materials and finishes. Four petrol engines, all turbocharged: a 4-liter 4-cylinder with 252 hp, a 3-liter V6 with 340 (Macan S) or 360 hp (Macan GTS) and a 3.8-liter V6 with 400 hp (Macan Turbo, boasting supercar performance). The only diesel is a 3.0 250 hp. In all cases the gearbox is the extremely fast automatic double-clutch robotised and seven-speed PDK, and the traction is integral: as well as really agile in relation to tonnage (abundantly above 1800 kg), the Porsche Macan is “glued” to asphalt and does not fear the slimy bottoms.
For maximum driveability you can add the rear differential lockable with PTV Plus system (it doses the braking of the wheel inside the curve), while in view of an off-road use, we recommend the PASM pneumatic active suspensions, which allow you to vary the height from the ground between 19 and 23 cm.
